Welcome to Solar Battery Hub (SBH)! By using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Introduction

  • 1.1. These Terms govern your use of Solar Battery Hub ("App"), provided by Centre for Energy Equality (CEE) ("Company").

2. Definitions

  • 2.1. "App" refers to the Solar Battery Hub app.
  • 2.2. "User" refers to anyone who uses the App.
  • 2.3. "Content" refers to all materials posted or uploaded by Users.

3. User Accounts

  • 3.1. Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • 3.2. Account Creation: Provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • 3.3. Account Responsibilities: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.

4. User Conduct

  • 4.1. Prohibited Activities: You agree not to use the App or batteries for any unlawful purposes, attempt to breach security or authorisation, respect others' rights to access.
  • 4.2. Content Guidelines: Do not post content that is offensive, illegal, or infringes on others' rights.
  • 4.3. Only supply (to the best of your ability) accurate and complete personal information.
  • 4.4. Only use payment methods which you are authorised to use and are in date.
  • 4.5. It is your responsibility to keep passwords and accounts secure.
  • 4.6. Notify the company of any potential breaches or unauthorised access.
  • 4.7. Rights to Access: You are free to download content from the App but it is prohibited to republish or distribute this content.
  • 4.8. You agree to use the batteries only for their intended purpose and not to tamper with them in any way.

5. Battery Care and Usage

  • 5.1. Safe Placement: Batteries must be placed on a stable, level surface to prevent accidents or damage.
  • 5.2. Avoid Impact: Do not drop, throw, or subject the battery to physical impacts, as this can damage the equipment and void your rental agreement.
  • 5.3. Temperature Control: Keep the battery in an environment that has good airflow for cooling.
  • 5.4. Keep Dry: The battery should not be exposed to water or other liquids. Do not submerge the battery, and ensure it is kept away from rain, spills, or humidity.
  • 5.5. Monitor Discharging: Do not leave the battery unattended while in use.
  • 5.6. Pre-use Inspection: Before using the battery, inspect it for any visible damage, such as cracks or missing parts. Do not use the battery if any damage is detected and report it immediately to our support team.

6. Damage or Loss of Equipment

  • 6.1. Liability for Damage: If the battery is damaged due to misuse, mishandling, or failure to follow the Battery Care and Usage Guidelines, you will be held responsible for repair or replacement costs.
  • 6.2. Lost or Stolen Equipment: In the event of loss or theft of the battery, you must notify us immediately. You may be liable for the full replacement cost if the battery is not recovered.

7. Prohibited Battery Use

  • 7.1. Tampering with Battery: Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the battery.
  • 7.2. Tampering with GPS: Do not tamper with or disable the GPS tracking device on the battery. Any tampering will result in liability for lost or stolen batteries.
  • 7.3. Unauthorised Use: The battery must not be used for any purpose other than as a portable power source, within the power range of the battery.
  • 7.4. Sole User: Do not lend or share the battery with others. You are responsible for the battery throughout the rental period.
  • 7.5. Hazardous Environments: Do not use the battery in potentially hazardous environments, such as near open flames or explosive atmospheres.

8. Battery Return

  • 8.1. Return Deadline: Batteries must be returned within the rental period agreed upon payment.
  • 8.2. Condition of Return: Batteries must be returned in good working condition, free from damage caused by misuse or neglect. Failure to return the battery in a usable state may result in additional charges.
  • 8.3. Return Location: Batteries should be returned to the designated hub or return location listed in your rental agreement.

9. Credit and Payment

  • 9.1. Refunds are not available for credit purchases.

10. Intellectual Property

  • 10.1. Ownership: The App and its content are owned by CEE.
  • 10.2. User Content: By posting content, you grant us a license to use it.

11. Privacy Policy

  • 11.1. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect and use your data.

12. Termination

  • 12.1. Termination by User: You may terminate your account at any time. To terminate your account, head to "Profile" in the SBH app, scroll down to the bottom, and click "Delete Account."
  • 12.2. Termination by SBH: We may terminate your account if you violate these Terms. We may restrict a user's account access if these Terms are violated.
  • 12.3. In the event of termination, any remaining credit will be forfeited.

13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • 13.1. No Warranties: The App is provided "as is" without warranties.
  • 13.2. Limitation of Liability: We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App or batteries outside the Battery Care and Usage Guidelines.

14. Indemnification

  • 14.1. You agree to indemnify CEE for any claims arising from your use of the App.

15. Governing Law

  • 15.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the UK.
  • 15.2. The user is responsible for adhering to their local authority's laws whilst using the App.

16. Changes to the Terms

  • 16.1. We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of changes by email and/or text message.

About this notice

These Terms of Service explain the conditions upon which a user uses the Solar Battery Hub app. The document covers the user's terms and conditions for using the App, details prohibited activities, lays out the Intellectual Property of the App's content, and lays out the consumer's rights to access. By agreeing to the Terms of Service, you agree to supply your correct personal details (to the best of your abilities), use the App for its intended purpose, and stick to correct user conduct as laid out in Section 4.

Our role

We are the controller of the personal data we process. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we collect, use, and store information about you.
